I promise, Lynn, you will NOT be disappointed. I can't recommend this enough. Just used it again last night....had chicken sausage with leeks and spinach and wanted to make a sauce to serve with it, so I looked up "leeks" and make a DELICIOUS cream & mustard sauce with some roasted garlic I had. Just a great source of endless ideas.

Great post Katie! I can truly relate to how meditative and inspiring getting creative in the kitchen can be. Wish I had more time to just let my cooking juices lead me somewhere tasty than 'follow' a recipe. I'll have to check out the Flavor Bible too!

talking on seasons btw - i have several herbs in the garden and some just grow well in summer - the mints i have, the majoram, thyme (i can never keep that alive over winter), oregano - and what i do is to freeze them - i have several bags of spearmint, moroccan and garden mint and a large tub of mixed herbs - all chopped up and ready to use in stews and on other things

you cant beat 'fresh' mint sauce in winter - so much better than from a bottle

I myself, do like to experiment in the kitchen as well. This book i have heard of actually and am looking foward to purchasing it for myself and one person in particular. Agreed that when the a particular spice/herb isnt in season, that this flavor bible sounds interesting and something to aquire.
